Johnson-Thompson wins heptathlon at World Championships

Katarina Johnson-Thompson has won gold in the heptathlon event at the World Athletics Championships.

It's the British athlete's first global outdoor title.

She won with a British record 6,981 points, finishing ahead of 2017 champion Nafissatou Thiam while Austria's Verena Preiner took the bronze medal.

Johnson-Thompson's gold is Great Britain's third medal of the Games after Dina Asher-Smith's 200m gold and 100m silver
