The Netherlands are out of the last-16 of Euro 2020.

They lost 2-0 to the Czech Republic.

With the score at 0-0, Matthijs de Ligt was sent off in the second half for handball for blocking Patrik Schick from a goalscoring opportunity.

Tomas Holes and Schick scored the winning goals, with De Ligt telling the media that they lost because of what he did.

Netherlands manager Frank de Boer,  supported his player saying he would shoulder the blame.

It was the first victory in the knockout stages of a major tournament for the Czech Republic since Euro 2004.

They now face Denmark in the last eight.
