Tom Latham's century puts Kiwis in solid position against England

New Zealand's Tom Latham scored a fine century before rain brought an early end to day one of the second Test against England in Hamilton on Friday.

Before rain ended play, Latham helped the Black Caps reach 173-3 and shared a third-wicket stand of 114 with Ross Taylor, who made 53.

New Zealand lead 1-0 in the two-Test series.
