Two men have been arrested for running a drug trafficking network from a villa, Dubai Police announced on Sunday, adding that 40 kg of drugs were seized from the property.
Operation Villa saw a dedicated task force from the Dubai Police closely monitor the movements of the gang members following a tip-off.
The first breakthrough came when one member of the gang was lured into a trap and arrested. He later confessed, revealing his partner’s role in the scheme.
A second sting operation was set up and the second member was caught red-handed while packaging the narcotics.
Further investigations revealed that the gang leader was based outside the country.
Officers seized 40 kg of narcotics, including ketamine, crystal meth, marijuana, hashish oil, and various chemical substances and liquids from the villa.
Brigadier Khalid bin Muwaiza, Director of the General Department of Anti-Narcotics, highlighted that Dubai Police is equipped with state-of-the-art tech to dismantle criminal networks operating from outside the country.
He urged the public to report any suspicious activities through the call centre on 901 or via the Dubai Police Smart App.
