Sharjah is the latest emirate to announce a 50 per cent discount on traffic fines, coinciding with the UAE's Golden Jubilee celebrations.

According to Sharjah Police, the offer, which runs from November 21 to January 31, applies to all types of traffic violations committed in the emirate, except for serious offences.

Drivers can also get their black points cancelled and their confiscated vehicles released.

A similar initiative was announced in Ajman earlier this week.
