Thirty-one commercial establishments have been pulled up by Dubai Economy for violating COVID-19 guidelines.
They were handed fines during the latest round of inspections conducted across open markets and commercial centres.
As many as 29 restaurants and cafes were caught allowing dine-in beyond permitted hours, while a retail outlet and a hair salon were among those penalised for non-compliance with face-mask guidelines.
Two shops in Dragon Mart were issued warnings for not displaying social distancing stickers.
The violations were spotted during inspections carried out in Naif, Al Rigga, Nakheel, Musalla, Al Murar, Al Baraha, Ayal Nasir, Al Dhaghaya, Al Hudaiba, Al Dhiyafa, and various shopping malls.
Dubai Economy said it will continue to conduct inspections along with its various partners with a special focus on shopping malls and locations that might see overcrowding.
