The 'Ehsan Stations' initiative is launching across Dubai, introducing AI-powered smart kiosks to feed stray animals in a more organised and sustainable way.
The project, billed as the first of its kind in the region, is being implemented by Dubai Municipality, reflecting the city’s commitment to animal welfare and environmental sustainability.
Twelve stations will be installed in key locations, including ten public parks and two Dubai Holding facilities, with AI systems that identify stray animals, dispense food and collect data to reduce random feeding.
Dr. Naseem Mohammed Rafee, Acting CEO of Dubai Municipality’s Environment, Health and Safety Agency, said the pilot initiative combines advanced technology with humane practices to manage stray animal populations, protect public health and support ecological balance.
Residents are encouraged to follow responsible pet care practices and report any concerns about stray animals by calling 800900.

Integrated facilities
Dubai Municipality adopts a scientific and humane approach to the management of stray or free-roaming animals.
It operates a temporary shelter that receives stray animals and provides them with basic care after collection, and also implements the Trap–Neuter–Return (TNR) programme and, in some cases, the Trap–Neuter–Vaccinate–Return (TNVR) programme.
These programmes involve trapping cats or other stray animals, neutering and vaccinating them, and returning them to their original locations, given that they do not pose a risk to themselves or to members of the community.
Some animals are also made available for adoption through the Dubai Municipality website in support of animal welfare initiatives.
