Dubai records 42% drop in road deaths

Dubai Police

Dubai’s roads seem to be getting safer as there’s been a 42 per cent drop in fatalities during the first nine months of this year, compared to the same period in 2019.

The stats from the General Directorate of Traffic at Dubai Police also revealed a 46 per cent drop in the number of traffic accidents during the same period.

As many as 262,940 traffic fines were also issued between January and September.

Officials added that the positive changes are largely down to the success of their awareness campaigns that reached out to more than 36,000 people.
