Ashleigh Stewart told ARN how her tweet about a kind Dubai Metro employee was retweeted by none other than His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The Dubai resident shared her tale of a generous metro employee who paid for her fare out of his own pocket when she let her card run out of credit and left her wallet at home.
Ashleigh Stewart arrived at Emirates Towers metro station after work, with no balance on her Nol card and no cash.
"Bearing witness to my idiocy," she tweeted, "this staff Superman topped me up".
Stewart said he wouldn't accept any attempt to repay him.
"It was such a small act of kindness, and it was only five dirhams but not many people would do that," she told ARN. "It was a very lovely gesture and it was kind of overwhelming."
"He was fine with me taking a photo, and I posted it on social media just thanking him because I didn't know how else to do it and it started picking up traction," she said.
Stewart admitted she was surprised to find her post had gone viral.
"A lot of people liked it and then all of a sudden I checked my phone and it was kind of going crazy, and Sheikh Mohammed had retweeted it, which was unexpected!"
Sheikh Mohammed added a comment saying he was "a true example of a real civil servant".
Stewart has now followed up her praise of his act by calling on his employers to "please give this man employee of the month. Or a raise. Or a house."
