Dubai International Airport (DXB) has rolled-out new children’s passport control counters in the arrivals halls of Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, following the successful launch in Terminal 3 in April.
The initiative aims to create a lasting impression on child passengers by allowing them to experience the passport stamping process themselves and fostering cultural ties.
The children’s passport counters are designed to catch the eye with a blend of traditional Emirati heritage and modern elements, including drawings of camels adorned with astronauts while the floor of the counters is decorated with welcoming phrases in a number of different languages and vibrant colours, aimed at resonating with the diverse backgrounds of the children.
During Eid Al Fitr, 10,423 children used children’s passport control counters in Terminal 3 which encouraged authorities to expand the service to the other terminals.
Meanwhile, Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai, visited the terminals to view the progress of work in the passport control area.
During his tour, Al Marri observed the various mechanisms in place, the readiness of the airport, as well as rapid response times to ensure high standards of innovative international services.
He also reviewed preparations made by technical and support teams to handle high passenger traffic during Eid Al Adha.
On the 1st day of Eid Al Adha, HE Lt. General Mohammed Al Marri conducted an inspection tour at Dubai Airport. He extended Eid greetings to the front-line heroes, including passport control officers & GDRFA staff.#إقامة_دبي#الاستعداد_للخمسين pic.twitter.com/8ye4pA98mH
