The UAE leaders have reemphasized the need to celebrate Eid Al Fitr at home, highlighting how the festivities this year will be unlike any other.
Taking to Twitter, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai and Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, stressed that “love and remote communication” will prevail as “this year’s Eid is quite different from any other Eid”.
He wished the people of the UAE a “happy and blessed Eid” and urged people around the world to come “closer to one another and to be more compassionate”.

Leading by example, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, took to Instagram to highlight how celebrations can still continue virtually.
In a video, he’s seen video-calling His Highness Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler’s Representative in Al Ain Region, and exchanging greetings with his family.
"During a video call, I had a great conversation with Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohamed. Let us continue to stay the course and get through this period together as safely as we can. Once again, I wish you and your families a healthy and blessed Eid Al Fitr,” Sheikh Mohamed wrote.
UAE residents have been advised to avoid gatherings during Eid Al Fitr in a bid to protect the community from the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic.
