The UAE and other Gulf countries have agreed to an ambitious strategic partnership with the UK.
This came during a meeting between British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss and her GCC counterparts.
The discussions, held in Kent, set the stage for an era of closer cooperation in areas including trade, cyber security and clean energy.
The group also agreed to work together to ensure reliable infrastructure financing into the developing world.
The UAE was represented by Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, Assistant Minister for Political Affairs and Permanent Representative to the UN.
The UK and the GCC are currently working towards a new Free Trade Agreement, with negotiations expected to start next year.
