The UAE is gearing up to host its first-ever fireworks contest later this month.

It will be held across two action-packed weekends in Abu Dhabi as part of the Mother of the Nation festival (March 12- 23).

Eight, epic 15-minute displays will fill the skies as teams from Canada, Netherlands, South Korea and Australia battle it out for the winner’s trophy.

The fireworks will be launched from a series of off-shore barges at Corniche beach.
