An earthquake measuring 2.9 on the Richter scale was recorded in the southern Musandam region early Sunday morning, according to the National Seismic Network at the UAE’s National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).
It was detected at 4:44am UAE time by monitoring stations in the area. No damage or injuries have been reported.
Low-magnitude earthquakes of this level are generally considered minor and are occasionally recorded in the Musandam region. The NCM continues to monitor seismic activity and provides updates when necessary.
