Maternity and paternity leave in the UAE is likely to be extended, according to Mona Al Murri, chairperson of the Board & Managing Director, Dubai Women Establishment.
The announcement was made at the Global Women's Forum currently taking place in Dubai.
The new policies may also allow new mums to work flexible hours or even part time after their maternity leave is over.
A male employee is currently eligible for three days of paternity leave and this is likely to be increased.
The timeline for the changes has not yet been announced, but is likely to be in place by next year.
