The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) spent a total of AED 2.2 billion on projects that positively impacted the lives of 149 million people across 118 countries in 2024.
This was announced during a special ceremony on Tuesday at the Dubai World Trade Centre, where the humanitarian organisation showcased its 2024 accomplishments, highlighted the progress of its Fathers’ Endowment campaign, and honoured its partners and major contributors.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, praised the efforts of MBRGI, stating that the organisation’s work across aid, healthcare, education and community projects embodies the UAE's enduring commitment to global humanitarian efforts.
He added that 975 employees and over 170,000 volunteers supported these initiatives.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai's Crown Prince and the UAE's Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister, also highlighted that MBRGI has evolved beyond charity to focus on sustainable development, the empowerment of individuals and communities, and long-term solutions to humanity's challenges.
He pointed out significant milestones, including the launch of the Mother's Endowment Campaign to support education worldwide, and the 1 Billion Meals Endowment campaign, which includes the construction of the tallest endowment tower in the UAE, valued at AED 800 million, aimed at global food security.
The year 2024 also saw the foundation stone laid for the Hamdan bin Rashid Cancer Hospital, the first of its kind in Dubai, which will offer free cancer treatment to those in need.
MBRGI’s work continues to create lasting, positive change, embodying the UAE’s values of hope, compassion and global solidarity.
