A Pakistani truck driver has been arrested in Abu Dhabi for allegedly killing a countryman in an act of revenge. Abu Dhabi Police reports that earlier this month, its Operations Room received a report about a burning vehicle on Bani Yas. Rescue teams were immediately dispatched to the scene where they found a burnt out sedan with a man’s body lying a few metres away from the vehicle. His entire body was covered with burns. Investigations led police to the suspect who admitted to running over the victim when he’d been trying to fix the front grille of his vehicle on the side of the road. He then doused the man and the car with gasoline, and fled after setting them on fire. The arrested man claims the victim had hired someone to kill his brother in Pakistan six years ago, following a dispute over a plot of land.
