Work week for government employees in Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah will move from Monday to Friday, in line with the UAE's new weekend.
Working hours for government employees will be from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm on Monday through Thursday, and to 12:00pm on Fridays.
The changes will be effective as of January 1, 2022.
This means, Sunday, January 2, 2022, will be an official holiday.
This is currently applicable to government entities in both the Emirates.
The announcement, made on national media WAM, said that the roll-out of the system will take into consideration government entities whose activities require alternative arrangements.
Flexible and remote work systems will remain in place in line with relevant directives and regulations.
