Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has entered into a partnership with Shamal Holding to upgrade road connections to Dubai Harbour.
The agreement will oversee the construction of a two-lane bridge in each direction spanning 1500 metres, extending from Sheikh Zayed Road, accommodating 6,000 vehicles per hour.
The bridge will run from the fifth intersection on Sheikh Zayed Road (near the American University) to Dubai Harbour Street, pass by the intersection of Al Naseem Street with Al Falak Street and cross over the intersection of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street up to Dubai Harbour.
Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General, and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the RTA, said that "when completed, the project will improve the flow of traffic and reduce the travel time from 12 minutes to three minutes".
Dubai Harbour is located between Bluewaters Island and Palm Jumeirah, hosting a marina and combining a range of living, retail, and hospitality.
