The Governor of the Syrian port city of Latakia has thanked the UAE for the humanitarian and relief aid it's provided, following the devastating earthquakes in the country.
Amer Ismail Hilal praised the UAE for donating the search and rescue equipment used in Operation “Gallant Knight / 2” to the Syrian Civil Defence, delivered by the Emirati team participating in the relief and rescue operation in the city of Jableh.
The Governor applauded their efforts in helping and rescuing people there.
He also said the team will provide training on the use of the equipment in case of future emergencies.
The UAE was one of the first countries to respond to the call for humanitarian aid in Syria and provide relief and support through the Emirati search and rescue team and its aid programme.
