The UAE called on the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to take a stronger role in boosting world peace and stability.
Fifty-six foreign ministers of the OIC have gathered in Abu Dhabi for a two-day meet to discuss ways to combat hate speech, terrorism and exploitation of religion.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, also emphasized UAE's keenness to take "necessary measures to end extremism of all forms and fight everyone involved in supporting terrorists".
Earlier, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, received the foreign ministers the OIC member states at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi.
