The UAE says it is closely monitoring the announcement of a two-week ceasefire, and is seeking further details to ensure Iran fully commits to an immediate halt in hostilities and the unconditional reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
In a statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs said recent attacks over the past 40 days targeting infrastructure, energy facilities and civilian sites have caused significant loss of life and damage, stressing the need to hold Iran accountable and ensure reparations.
The Ministry also called for a comprehensive approach to address broader security concerns, including Iran’s nuclear, missile and drone capabilities, and regional proxy groups, as well as threats to maritime navigation and regional stability.
The UAE reaffirmed it is not a party to the conflict, highlighting its diplomatic efforts to prevent escalation, while urging Iran to comply fully with a recent UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate end to the attacks.
