UAE President, Qatari Emir discuss regional developments

The UAE's President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani emphasised the need for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid.

They also stressed the importance of prioritising the protection of civilians in accordance with international humanitarian laws.

The two leaders discussed the latest developments in the Middle East during their meeting in Abu Dhabi on Thursday.

The talks also touched on various avenues of cooperation between the UAE and Qatar, as well as ways to enhance joint Gulf action in a manner that serves the interests of the people of the GCC.

During the meeting at Al Shati Palace, Sheikh Mohamed conferred the Order of the Union upon Sheikh Saoud Bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Chief of the Emiri Diwan, in appreciation of his efforts to enhance the fraternal relations between the UAE and Qatar.

The UAE President also hosted a dinner banquet in honour of the Qatari delegation.
