The UAE bid farewell to 2021 in style, with dazzling displays of fireworks and a series of entertainment events.
The festivities in Dubai were led by a grand light, laser and firework show on the Burj Khalifa, while Expo 2020 Dubai will continue its celebrations until 4:00 am with hourly countdowns to mark global time zones.
Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Ajman and Fujairah have also put up special shows and performances.
To avoid mass gatherings and overcrowding, the events have been spread across various locations in each emirate.
