UAE sends second shipment of COVID-19 vaccine to Gaza Strip

The UAE has sent a second shipment of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine to the Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian Health Ministry thanked the UAE for the shipment, which includes 38,700 doses of the vaccine.

Last month, Gaza received 20,000 Sputnik V vaccine doses from the UAE.

The UAE also sent three aircraft carrying over 36 tonnes of medical aid in addition to COVID-19 test kits and respirators to benefit more than 36,000 medical personnel.

Since 2010, the UAE has provided assistance worth US$1.14 billion to Palestine, of which $254 million is for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).
