World Tennis League hosts top players in Dubai

The World Tennis League kicked off in Dubai with an international sporting line-up including huge names such as Novak Djokovic, Iga Swiatek, Elena Rybakina, Nick Kyrgios, Simona Halep and Alexander Zverev.

The World Tennis League got off to an exciting start with a friendly exhibition match between Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, President of of UAE Padel Association and Novak Djokovic.

18 players have been drawn into four teams (Falcons, Eagles, Kites, Hawks), and these teams will play each other in a round-robin format. The fixture will include one men’s singles match, one women’s singles match and a mixed doubles match. Following the round-robin phase, the top two teams will face off in the final on 24 December 2022.

In its first edition, the event combines world class sport with international entertainment, with after-match concerts being headlined with huge international names.

The four teams who will compete for the title are:

The Falcons: Novak Djokovic, Grigor Dimitrov, Aryna Sabalenka & Paula Badosa

The Hawks: Alexander Zverev, Dominic Thiem, Elena Rybakina & Annett Kontaveit

The Kites: Felix Auger Aliassime, Gael Monfils, Iga Swiatek, Sania Mirza & Eugenie Bouchard

The Eagles: Nick Kyrgios, Rohan Bopanna, Caroline Garcia, Bianca Andreescu & Andreas Seppi
