Dubai Humanitarian has launched an emergency airlift to Afghanistan following last week’s devastating earthquake.
This comes following the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
A B747 cargo aircraft departed on Monday, carrying 84 tonnes of critical relief supplies, including medical kits, shelter materials and emergency aid, valued at over AED 3.4 million.
The shipment is expected to support nearly 730,000 people affected by the disaster.
The operation was coordinated with key humanitarian partners including WHO, UNHCR, UNICEF and the UN Humanitarian Response Depot.
Giuseppe Saba, CEO of Dubai Humanitarian, said the rapid response reflects the UAE’s commitment to global humanitarian efforts, ensuring swift action when crises strike.
