UAE air defences detected and successfully intercepted 23 ballistic missiles and 56 drones launched from Iran on Saturday, the Ministry of Defence confirmed.
Since the start of Iran's attacks on February 28, the UAE has intercepted 498 ballistic missiles, 23 cruise missiles and 2,141 drones.
The attacks have resulted in the deaths of two members of the armed forces and a Moroccan contractor working for the military, as well as 10 civilians, and have also wounded 217, with injuries ranging from minor to severe.
The Ministry of Defence reaffirmed it remains fully prepared and ready to deal with any threats and will firmly confront anything that aims to undermine the security of the country, in a manner that ensures the protection of its sovereignty, security and stability, and safeguards its interests and national capabilities.
The ministry also urged the public not to approach, handle, or film any debris or objects resulting from the interceptions, and to leave it to the competent authorities.
