The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has rolled out four services aimed at assisting workers and employers during the two-month visa amnesty scheme.
These include the issuance, renewal and cancellation of work permits, and handling work abandonment complaints.
The services are available to those eligible for the status settlement, including individuals with expired work or residency permits, and those involved in work abandonment disputes, whether they are employed in establishments or are domestic workers.
Businesses can also apply for exemptions from fines related to failing to provide employment contracts or renew work permits.
Applications for status correction can be submitted through the Ministry's website, the MOHRE mobile app, and at business and domestic worker service centres.
The visa amnesty programme, which began on September 1, offers a two-month grace period (until the end of October) for offenders to rectify their visa status or leave the country.
The Ministry has urged employees and employers to take advantage of this scheme to resolve their issues, while violating workers have the option to either continue their employment in the UAE or leave the country without facing legal or financial penalties.
Which categories can benefit from our services to settle their status during the grace period until 31 October? Find out more in the post.
