The price of COVID-19 PCR tests has been reduced by AED 20 following a directive from the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi.
A circular issued by the Department says the cost has been cut from AED 85 to 65.
This applies to a "single run including the collection and testing of the sample".
It adds that payment will be made by the individual for cases presenting to health care facilities with "no symptoms or medical indication".
Those presenting with COVID-19 symptoms and People of Determination are covered by insurance.
Earlier this week, Abu Dhabi announced that all private sector employees working in the emirate's vital sectors and service industries will undergo compulsory free PCR tests every two weeks.
