Abu Dhabi has launched a 'Golden List' to ease food product custom clearance across the emirate's border crossings.
Companies who have cleared five consecutive shipments, an approved health certificate from origin country, and pre-audit and advance import requests submitted at least 24 hours prior to the shipment will enter the 'Golden List'.
The products can then enter the local market directly without physical inspection or sampling. It will reduce waiting periods, customs clearance time and importers' logistical and operational costs, while maintaining full compliance with food safety standards.
It's set up in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Customs and Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) to support trade flow, foster the business ecosystem, and maintain the highest food safety standard.
However, if a listed product is found in violation of specifications or receives any food-related alerts, it will be promptly delisted and subjected to regular control measures.
