Timings for paid parking hours and toll gates are set to change in the UAE capital during the holy month of Ramadan.
According to the Integrated Transport Centre of the Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi, MAWAQiF parking fees will be applied from Monday to Saturday, from 8:00 am to 12:00 am. No parking charges will be collected on Sundays.
Meanwhile, the "peak hours" of the Darb toll gate system will be modified to start from 8:00 am to 10:00 am, and from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The charges will be applied from Monday to Saturday, and will be free of charge on Sundays.
The timings for public bus services in the city of Abu Dhabi will begin from 5:00 am and 6:00 am, and will run until 1:00 am. For Abu Dhabi’s suburbs, the services will start operating from 6:00 am until 10:00 pm; with a slight change in the frequency of some of the services provided.
In Al Ain, the public bus services will operate from 7:00 am until 2:00 am. For the suburbs, the services will be provided from 6:00 am until 11:00 pm, while some services will operate until 12:00 am. The majority of the suburban public bus services will remain unchanged, but with a slight change in the frequency in Al Ain.
The public bus service at Al Dhafrah will operate at its current service hours with minimal changes. However, the Public Bus Service will not be operational during Iftar time.
In a social media post, the Abu Dhabi Police also revised timings for heavy vehicles and trucks.
It said these are not permitted on Abu Dhabi and Al Ain routes from 8:00 am to 10:00 am; while buses transporting 50 worker passengers or more will not be permitted on Abu Dhabi roads from 8:00 am to 10:00 am.
In the afternoon, trucks won't be allowed on Abu Dhabi and Al Ain city roads from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
