A major infrastructure project has been completed in Dubai's Nad Al Sheba 3, featuring an advanced sewerage and rainwater drainage network worth AED 277 million.
Dubai Municipality says the development spans 340 hectares and serves around 300 land plots, as part of its broader strategy to future-proof the city’s infrastructure.
The new system includes 24 km of sewerage pipelines, an additional 11 km of household connections and a high-capacity rainwater pumping station capable of handling 4,000 litres of water per second.
A 31 km gravity-based drainage network has also been installed to improve stormwater flow and reduce flooding risks.
Eng. Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality, says the initiative supports Dubai’s readiness for climate challenges over the next century and aligns with two major programmes: the AED 30 billion ‘Tasreef’ rainwater initiative and the AED 80 billion upgrade of Dubai’s sewerage system.
