His Excellency Sheikh Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, Chairman of the National Media Office (NMO) and Chairman of the UAE Media Council, visited the Arabian Radio Network (ARN) headquarters in Dubai Media City.
During his visit to the network, the largest radio network in the region, he inspected the advanced facilities and studios, equipped with the latest smart technology and audiovisual equipment.
He was introduced to the technical and administrative departments, the network’s headquarters and its main divisions, and received a briefing on various work processes.
His Excellency Sheikh Abdulla affirmed that the UAE leadership supports and promotes media as a key partner in development and progress, emphasising the importance of advancing its role in communicating the UAE’s message to the world and keeping pace with the country's achievements across various fields, which consistently top global indicators.
This is achieved by enabling national media institutions to adopt the latest global developments in this sector, ensuring the delivery of meaningful media content that reflects the values and principles of the UAE, he said.
He added that national media is a fundamental pillar of sustainable development, playing a vital role in community building, raising awareness, fostering national cohesion, and promoting positive values. He further underscored the importance of continuously adopting the latest technologies and trends in the media industry to enhance the UAE’s leadership position.
Expressing his pride in the distinguished national talent within ARN, His Excellency highlighted their dedication, efficiency, and responsibility in showcasing the best of Emirati media, praising the multicultural team working harmoniously, embodying the spirit of teamwork and delivering outstanding results.
He continued, "We are working to empower a new generation of Emirati media professionals characterised by professionalism, development, and the ability to adapt to the rapid changes in the media industry through the ‘Media Apprenticeship' programme, recently launched by the UAE Media Council in collaboration with the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council."
The Chairman of the National Media Office commended the efforts of ARN in enhancing the local media landscape through investment in innovative technologies that ensure high-quality media content and provide a successful cultural, entertainment, and news experience, reaching millions of followers.
He praised the network's role in supporting the growth and development of the media sector in the UAE, its commitment to innovation, and its alignment with technological advancements both locally and internationally. “These efforts are in line with the national goals and ambitions to enhance a modern media ecosystem and establish the UAE as a leading global media hub,” he said.
Maitha Majed Al Suwaidi, CEO of Strategy and Media Policy at UAE Media Council, was accompanying Sheikh Abdulla during his visit to ARN headquarters in Dubai. They were received by Mahmoud Al Rasheed, General Manager of ARN, who provided an overview of the network’s facilities, which include 41 radio and digital studios for audio and visual production, all relying on the latest technical devices and smart technologies, offering a unique media experience to the network’s audience across its various audio and visual channels.
During the tour, the Chairman of NMO met with several media professionals working at the network's radio stations, who explained their work and the media messages they deliver to serve the community and raise awareness on various issues. He also learned about the network's efforts to ensure the delivery of high-quality content in line with the UAE leadership's vision for developing the media sector.
