A hypermarket and a women's salon have been shut down in Sharjah for not complying with COVID-19 precautionary measures.

The Department of Economic Development took action against the establishments for violating social distancing norms.

The authority has stepped up inspections in recent weeks to ensure the rules are being followed.

It has also called on the public to report any violations on its hotline (80080000) or through the consumer protection website.
