Dubai Civil Defence teams were able to control a fire which broke out in a wood factory in Umm Ramool area on Monday.
Officials were alerted at 2:32 pm after the warehouse was engulfed in flames.
Reports suggest that the density of the smog was caused by the materials and wood burning in the factory due to the fire.
Four firefighter squads from the Rashidiya, Al Qusais, Nad Al Sheba and Port Said centers rushed to the scene to control the blaze.
It was contained in just one hour, after emergency response teams arrived at the location of the incident.
