Dubai Police are reminding parents to keep a close eye on their children, following an incident where a six-year-old child of determination was found alone and distressed on the street.
Brigadier Omar Moussa Ashour, Acting Director of Naif Police Station, said the child had wandered off near Naif Market after both parents mistakenly thought he was with the other.
Police patrols responded quickly and cared for him at the station, until his family was located. The boy was reunited with his parents within an hour.
"The father explained that he worked in a shop in the same building where they lived, and the child had left home to accompany his mother to his father's workplace. Both parents believed the child was with the other, but he had left the building and wandered into the street," said Brig. Ashour.
He added that the child's father was asked to signed a pledge to prevent such incidents in the future.
The official emphasised the role of the family in ensuring a child's safety and urged parents to teach their children how to seek help from police or security personnel if they ever get lost.
