Dubai has sent critical humanitarian aid to Myanmar following the devastating earthquake in late March.
In partnership with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Dubai Humanitarian has dispatched over 167 metric tonnes of relief supplies by sea.
This comes following the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The shipment departed from Jebel Ali Port and is currently en route to Yangon.
It includes tarpaulins, kitchen sets, solar lamps and buckets, aimed at helping nearly 80,000 people. It's the first of two planned sea shipments, following earlier airlifts.
Officials say the aid brings both support and solidarity to communities still struggling in crisis.
The Global Humanitarian Impact Fund (GHIF) fully covered the transportation costs of the shipment, enabling international relief partners to expand the reach and impact of their operations in response to evolving humanitarian needs on the ground.
