In a major tech leap for maritime operations, the Dubai Ports Authority (DPA) has unveiled 'Port Eye' – a cutting-edge aerial monitoring system powered by autonomous drones and artificial intelligence.
The new system is designed to boost safety, monitor environmental conditions and inspect port infrastructure across Dubai’s maritime zones.
Equipped with 4K thermal cameras and advanced sensors, the drones operate autonomously, feeding real-time visuals and data to a central smart control hub.
This reduces the need for manual inspections in high-risk areas and supports the UAE’s Green Agenda 2030 and Net Zero 2050 goals.
Captain Ibrahim Al Blooshi, Executive Director of the DPA, says Port Eye is a game-changer in Dubai’s digital transformation journey, cutting inspection times from four hours to just 50 minutes.
The system can detect ship emissions, monitor marine pollution and ensure compliance with global environmental standards.
With a 60 per cent boost in inspection efficiency, Port Eye is setting a new benchmark for intelligent port operations.
