Gyms and certain indoor sporting facilities in Abu Dhabi will be allowed to reopen from July 1 as long as they comply with the health and safety regulations related to COVID-19.
The latest directive is applicable for fitness and bodybuilding centres, billiards and snooker halls, yoga centres and bowling clubs.
Their capacity has been capped at 40 per cent, while children under 12 and adults above 60 are not allowed to enter.
Wearing face masks and gloves is mandatory and so is thermal scanning for staff and customers.
Individuals must also maintain a distance of at least two metres and carry their own hygiene kits.
The use of changing rooms, saunas and prayer rooms in these facilities is still prohibited.
With 40% capacity, Abu Dhabi resumes individual indoor sporting activities including gyms, which are now able to operate 24/7, provided gym-goers, trainers and technical staff adhere to the prescribed guidelines.
