Health authorities in Dubai have reminded the public to follow a list of health and safety guidelines during Eid to ensure a healthy and happy celebration.
Families have been urged to swap gifts and money with electronic alternatives for children and to perform Eid prayers at home.
People have also been urged to avoid big gatherings and avoid visiting pregnant women, elders, people with chronic disease and children.
Those having fever or any respiratory symptom must remain home.
That's not all. House workers are urged to avoid interacting with outsiders, and wear face masks and gloves if they do so.
Visiting restaurants and cafes
- Sanitize or wash your hands before and after eating
- Make sure to maintain physical distancing
- Avoid raw foods
- Don’t share food or drinks with others on the table
- Avoid eating with your hands and use single-use cutlery
- Pay by card or smart pay
Visiting malls
- Maintain physical distancing

- Sanitize and wash your hands regularly

Going to beauty centres and salons
- Maintain physical distancing
- Wear face masks
- Avoid touching others and shaking hands
- Refuse the service if you notice that the staff have any symptoms and inform the manager
- Avoid touching your mouth, nose and eyes and keep your hands clean
- It is best to use your own grooming tools for shaving, haircutting and manicures, if not available, then make sure the tools are sterilized
- Pay by card or smart pay
Eating healthy
- Avoid overeating and fried food or meals that are high in fat and sugar
- Beef and lamb meat take long to digest. If you must have them, then eat them in moderation
- Have fresh fruits, veggies and whole grain crackers instead
- Drink at least 8-10 glasses of water daily
- Exercise or go for a walk to help aid digestion
