A group of seven hikers who lost their way in Wadi Shehah has been rescued by the Ras Al Khaimah Police.
A specialised team from the search and rescue department rushed to the site after receiving a report about the stranded people.
The Asian nationals were found deep in a rugged area of the valley, forcing the rescuers to reach them on foot.
One of them who had lost consciousness due to extreme exhaustion was airlifted to safety in a helicopter and later transferred to the hospital.
The rest of the group members, who were found to be in stable conditions, were provided with first aid before being taken to the entrance of the valley where their vehicles were located.
Ras Al Khaimah Police have strongly advised against venturing into rugged sites in mountainous areas and Wadis for safety and security reasons.
They also called on adventure-seekers to notify the authorities before heading out on major expeditions.
