Sports academies and coaching clinics in Dubai's private educational institutions can now resume operations.
According to the Dubai Sports Council, this will include the reopening of cricket fields, football pitches, swimming pools and running tracks.
Academies will need to comply with a detailed list of safety protocols that has been compiled in collaboration with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA).
It includes implementing regular cleaning regimes, ensuring that social distancing guidelines are being followed and maintaining hygiene and sanitization requirements.
Children below the age of 12 and individuals above 60 are still not allowed to take part in activities held at these facilities as age limitations remain in place.
Those who meet the safety requirements and wish to resume their coaching and training services must first obtain an approval from the Dubai Sports Council by registering online.
The sports council took the decision to reopen centres shut due to COVID-19 after receiving approval from Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management.
The full list released by the DSC includes:
- Cricket and football pitches
- Tennis courts
- Volleyball and Basketball courts
- Running tracks
- Indoor sports halls
- Fitness centres
- Swimming pools
