Sharjah Police officers have recovered AED 660,000 in cash within 24 hours after three men broke into a villa in the emirate.
The resident had alerted the authorities as soon as he discovered that the safe, where he had stored the multi-currency notes, had been emptied.
Following a speedy investigation, a team from the Sharjah Police force zeroed in on two suspects based on their previous interactions with the owner, who deals in scrap trade.
During the interrogation, the men confessed to the crime and directed them to the third person involved in the plan.
The suspects have been transferred to Public Prosecution for further action, with officials reminding residents about the risks involved in keeping large amounts of cash at home.
