The UAE announced the official holiday for the 53rd National Day, recently renamed Eid Al Etihad, will be on December 2 and 3 for private and public entities, with work resuming on December 4.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) made the announcement on Friday, "in accordance with a circular issued by the Ministry, implementing the Cabinet's decision regarding the approved public holidays for both government and private sectors for the year 2024."
Earlier, the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) made the announcement for the ministries and federal entities.
The official holiday means residents and citizens get a four-day weekend, from Saturday to Tuesday.
The MoHRE and FAHR extended their greetings to the leadership, government and people of the UAE.
Eid Al Etihad is celebrated annually on December 2 to commemorate the formation of the United Arab Emirates in 1971.
The country observes nationwide celebrations to mark the occasion annually with fireworks, car rallies, air shows, and the UAE flag displayed in most places.
