The UAE marked another annual Flag Day on Friday, with institutions raising the symbol, playing the national anthem, and messages hallmarking the occasion pouring from the country's leaders.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum,Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, said "Brothers and sisters, as we are accustomed to every year, we celebrate Flag Day. We celebrate the flag of the nation. We celebrate the symbol of our country, the secret of our strength, and the source of our pride: the flag of the United Arab Emirates," on social media platform X.
His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Qaiwain, has said that Flag Day is a cherished national occasion held dear to every Emirati heart and “an exceptional day where we express our pride and appreciation for the achievements our nation has made across various sectors, and our determination to continue the journey of development, prosperity, security, and stability.”
His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination, stressed that Flag Day is a national occasion that enhances the values of loyalty and devotion to the nation, and an occasion that increases the culture of appreciating the flag as a symbol of national belonging.
He pointed out that celebrating Flag Day is an expression of pride in the comprehensive empowerment journey in the UAE, which has established its position among the most advanced ranks in the world.
Counselor Dr. Hamad Saif Al Shamsi, Attorney General of the State, said it embodies the highest meanings of unity and belonging deeply rooted in the souls of the sons of the state.
“We celebrate the UAE Flag Day as one family under our wise leadership, and we pledge to God, the nation and the leadership to continue the path of loyalty, allegiance and belonging, and to exert more effort in serving the nation so that we may be a building block in the lofty edifice of our country, preserving justice with the most precious things we possess so that the UAE will forever remain the land of goodness, security and justice," he said.
Her Excellency Sarah bint Yousef Al Amiri, Minister of Education, stressed that Flag Day immortalizes in the conscience lofty national meanings and values, linked to what the UAE flag symbolizes in terms of progress, development and rapid renaissance in various fields and areas, and the exceptional and prestigious achievements made by our beloved country at the global level.
