The UAE has provided critical humanitarian aid to Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) after devastating floods in May displaced hundreds of people and left several parts damaged.
The UAE Aid Agency, in coordination with the UAE Embassy in DRC, delivered basic food supplies and essential shelter aid to those who have been displaced, including affected families in temporary shelters.
The contribution was held in cooperation with Governor of Kinshasa Province, Daniel Bumba Lubaki, and Ministry of Social Affairs, Humanitarian Action and National Solidarity.
This support stems from the UAE's humanitarian mission to provide urgent aid, support the stability of affected communities, and alleviate the burden on people affected by natural disasters and crises.
UNHCR spokesperson Eujin Byun said the "flooding has hit a community already under severe strain".
In April, the UN refugee agency said severe flooding in May caused by torrential rains had displaced nearly 10,000 people in Tanganyika province in DRC.
