The UAE’s campaign for Lebanon, “UAE stands with Lebanon,” has collected more than AED 110 million to provide food and medical supplies, shelter equipment and other relief material in its first week.
The campaign is set to continue for another week, with more donation drives scheduled. It is also receiving financial contributions for the same period.
The Expo Centre Sharjah will host a humanitarian collection event on Saturday, from 9:00AM to 1:00PM.
Donation drives held in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, in collaboration with the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) collected 450 tonnes of direct assistance over the weekend.
Since the beginning of the crisis, the UAE has provided immediate support to the Lebanese people by allocating $100 million (AED 367 million) in urgent aid, and $30 million (AED 110 million) for Lebanese refugees in Syria. A total of 10 relief planes loaded with 450 tonnes of aid materials have been sent.
