The UAE Aid agency has dispatched more critical aid to help nearly 40,000 families impacted by the deadly earthquake that struck Cebu Island in the central Philippines early October.
The aid was delivered under the supervision of the UAE Embassy in Manila, in cooperation with relevant local authorities and agencies, and in support of the Philippine government's disaster management operations.
The earthquake that struck early October left at least 72 people dead and displaced more than 20,000 people and several properties damaged.
The UAE's humanitarian efforts reflect the long standing bilateral ties between the two nations spanning over 50 years, national news agency Wam reported.
Mohammed Obaid Al Qattam Al Zaabi, UAE Ambassador to the Philippines, affirmed the UAE's unwavering support, noting that the assistance comes in light of the directives of the UAE leadership to extend support to all countries in times of crisis.
