The UAE has welcomed the announcement of a ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel, expressing hope that the agreement will lead to a lasting peace.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs praised the United States for its role in facilitating the agreement, calling it a crucial step in reducing suffering for the Lebanese people.
The ministry reaffirmed the UAE’s strong support for Lebanon’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and its return to a prominent position within the Arab world and the international community.
The UAE also expressed its hope that the ceasefire will help fully implement UN Resolution 1701, restoring safety and security for civilians, easing tensions, and opening the door for diplomatic dialogue aimed at achieving long-term peace and stability in the region.
